Audie & Ellen DeHart Memorial Scholarship

Dehart ellen
The Audie and Ellen DeHart memorial scholarship, first bestowed in 2017, celebrates the legacy and public service of the DeHarts to the education needs of Marshfield, Missouri and Webster County. The scholarship is open to any graduating Marshfield student actively planning to attend any Missouri post-secondary accredited program with the intent of becoming a degreed educator. Mr. DeHart was a dedicated and beloved educator. The DeHarts moved to Marshfield in 1956 and Mr. DeHart launched what turned out to be a third-six year education career, all in Marshfield. With Ellen at his side, Audie taught secondary math for ten years and then for an additional twenty six years served as the first Marshfield Junior High principal. Audie and Ellen's strong belief in the power of education and community service remain evidenced not only in their four children but in the accomplishments of countless students and fellow educators.

This scholarship will be open to a current or graduated student from Marshfield who is interested in pursuing a career in education and who plans to attend a college or university in Missouri on a full-time basis.  Two letters of recommendation speaking to the character of the applicant are required.  The Marshfield Public Schools Foundation administers the $750 scholarship – paid in a single installment at the time of enrollment, directly to the institution of choice.  The scholarship is non-renewable.
